RGV’s Satirical Post After Police Interrogation Goes Viral

Prominent filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma appeared before the police for questioning on Friday in connection with a case involving morphed images of Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Nara Lokesh, which were allegedly posted on social media with inappropriate captions. Soon after his interrogation, Varma made a satirical post on the social media platform ‘X,’ which quickly went viral. He wrote, “I love Ongole... And I love Ongole Police even more, three cheers.” This post has sparked widespread debate, with many questioning whether Varma was genuinely praising the Ongole police or sarcastically implying that despite hours of questioning, they could do nothing against him.
During the interrogation, the police asked Varma to hand over his mobile phone. However, he responded that his phone was with his nephew, who had already left for Hyderabad. Dissatisfied with this response, the police checked the phone's location and found that it was in the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) district office. When officers visited the location to retrieve the phone, former MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, who was present there, confronted them and engaged in a heated argument. He questioned why Varma’s phone was at the YSRCP office, leading to a tense situation. With no resolution, the police eventually left without retrieving the device.
