Telugu Student Commits Suicide in the U.S. Due to Fear of Deportation

A Telugu student in the United States has reportedly died by suicide, allegedly due to fear of deportation. The exact region in the Telugu states he belonged to is yet to be confirmed. According to his friend, the deceased student has been identified as Saikumar Reddy. He had traveled to New York for higher education and was temporarily employed there.

Following Donald Trump’s presidency, the U.S. has intensified measures to deport undocumented immigrants. As part of these enforcement actions, authorities conducted inspections at Saikumar Reddy’s workplace, during which they reportedly confiscated his passport. Fearing deportation, he is believed to have taken his own life at his workplace.
