Will You Make the Police Salute the Accused?: Varla Ramaiah Criticizes Jagan's Remarks

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s comments regarding the investigation into the murder case of Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy have sparked political controversy. During the investigation, police questioned Pawan Kumar, a YSRCP supporter, based on a complaint filed by Sunil Yadav, one of the accused in the case. Pawan Kumar reportedly informed Jagan Mohan Reddy that the police had assaulted him during questioning.
In response, Jagan Mohan Reddy reportedly reassured Pawan Kumar, saying, "Be brave. We are coming back to power. I will make that DSP and CI salute you."
Varla Ramaiah, a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Politburo member, strongly criticized Jagan Mohan Reddy’s remarks. Ramaiah questioned whether it was appropriate for Jagan Mohan Reddy to suggest that police officers should salute an accused person after YSRCP returns to power. He asked, "Mr. Jagan, if the police interrogate Pawan, who is accused in a case, is it right to say that you will make the CI and DSP salute him after coming to power? Did you govern the state this way for five years? Are you trying to blackmail the police? Are you speaking like an anti-social force?"
