Avinash Reddy Attempted to Mislead in Viveka Murder Case: AP Govt Files Affidavit in Supreme Court

The Andhra Pradesh government has informed the Supreme Court that YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy attempted to mislead the investigation into the murder of Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy. The state government submitted an additional affidavit to the Supreme Court, outlining allegations that Avinash Reddy orchestrated a conspiracy to derail the investigation and implicate others falsely.
According to the affidavit, the government claimed that Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer Ramsingh, Viveka’s daughter Sunitha, and her husband Narreddy Rajasekhar Reddy were wrongfully implicated under Avinash Reddy’s direction. The government alleged that this was part of a deliberate effort to misdirect the course of the investigation.
The affidavit further stated that when a case was filed against Ramsingh, the investigating officer G. Raju failed to conduct a proper inquiry. It also noted that Raju admitted to being threatened by Avinash Reddy. The government alleged that retired Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) K. Rajeshwar Reddy and Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Ramakrishna Reddy were responsible for managing the case and that they fabricated false witness statements and filed baseless First Information Reports (FIRs) to implicate Ramsingh, Sunitha, and Narreddy Rajasekhar Reddy.
The government claimed that Viveka’s personal assistant, Krishna Reddy, was never interrogated by Ramsingh. It alleged that Krishna Reddy’s statement, in which he claimed to have been subjected to third-degree torture to extract false statements against Avinash Reddy and his family, was fabricated. The affidavit further asserted that this scheme was carried out at AIG Ramakrishna Reddy’s residence, where false evidence was allegedly manufactured within 12 days to frame Ramsingh, Sunitha, and Narreddy. The government noted that Krishna Reddy failed to provide any credible evidence to substantiate his claims.
The affidavit also stated that several witnesses testified during the investigation that they had never provided the statements attributed to them. It mentioned that investigating officer G. Raju refused to sign certain documents in the case diary, allegedly after being threatened by Avinash Reddy at his residence. The government maintained that these actions clearly indicated a conspiracy by Avinash Reddy to obstruct the investigation and evade accountability in Viveka’s murder case.
