EC Moves Forward with Aadhaar-Voter Card Linking

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has taken steps to link voter ID cards with Aadhaar, an issue that has been under discussion for a long time. A meeting was held today by the Election Commission to discuss the Aadhaar-voter card linkage. The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Legislative Affairs Department, and technical experts specializing in Aadhaar and voter ID systems.

As part of this initiative, a committee of technical experts is expected to convene soon to deliberate on the technological aspects of the integration process. The move is seen as a significant step in streamlining voter identification and reducing electoral fraud. However, concerns regarding privacy and data security remain key discussion points.
