MLAs and MLCs' Sports Competitions Begin in Vijayawada

A three-day sports competition for Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) commenced today in Andhra Pradesh. The event is being held at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Vijayawada. Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Ayyannapatrudu, Deputy Speaker Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, and Ministers Anitha and Nadendla Manohar participated in the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, marking the inauguration of the competition.
State Sports Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy and Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) Chairman Ravi Naidu oversaw the arrangements for the event. Minister Ramprasad Reddy stated that around 70% of the MLAs had registered to participate in the competitions.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan are scheduled to travel to Delhi this evening. They are expected to attend the event either tomorrow or the day after. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will present awards to the winners.
The competition includes various sports such as cricket, kabaddi, volleyball, tennis, table tennis, throwball, and Tennikoit, along with athletic events. In total, contests will be held in 13 different sports categories. Among the 175 MLAs, 140 have registered, while 13 out of 58 MLCs will also participate.
