PM Modi Writes to Sunita Williams as She Prepares to Return from Space

Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams is set to return to Earth after spending nearly nine months aboard the International Space Station. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a letter to Sunita Williams, stating that she holds a special place in the hearts of Indians.
Sunita Williams, along with fellow astronaut Butch Wilmore, has been stationed in space for approximately nine months. According to the United States space agency NASA, the duo is expected to land on Earth at 3:27 AM IST on Wednesday.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh shared the contents of Prime Minister Modi’s letter on the social media platform X. In the letter, Modi expressed that while Williams was physically thousands of miles away, she remained close to the hearts of the Indian people. He also conveyed the nation's wishes for her health and success in the mission. Additionally, the Prime Minister expressed hope that Sunita Williams would visit India after her return to Earth.
