Inappropriate Comments on Priyanka Gandhi: Youth Congress Attacks BJP Office in Hyderabad

Controversy erupted after former BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri made objectionable remarks about senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi. The BJP leader's comments, where he reportedly said that Delhi’s roads could be transformed as smooth as Priyanka Gandhi's cheeks, sparked outrage within Congress circles. In response, Youth Congress leaders and activists staged a protest and attacked the BJP state office in Hyderabad.

During the protest, Congress workers displayed their anger by hitting a photograph of Ramesh Bidhuri with slippers, demanding an immediate apology from him. The situation escalated as a physical clash broke out between the Congress and BJP cadres. BJP workers from inside the office reportedly retaliated by attacking the protestors with sticks, while Congress activists hurled stones at the office.

In the ensuing violence, a BJP Dalit Morcha worker sustained head injuries. Tensions mounted at the BJP state office as the clashes continued, prompting a large police presence to intervene and disperse the groups. Authorities are currently working to restore order in the area, as the atmosphere remains tense.

Local police have been deployed in large numbers to prevent further escalation and ensure peace. Meanwhile, Congress leaders have reiterated their demand for a public apology from Ramesh Bidhuri, accusing him of making offensive and sexist remarks against Priyanka Gandhi. BJP leaders, on the other hand, have condemned the violent attack on their office, calling it an act of hooliganism.

The incident has led to heightened political tensions between the two parties, with both sides exchanging accusations. Further developments are expected as police investigate the incident and statements are issued by senior leaders of both parties.
