Bollywood Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta Expresses Anger at Tollywood Producer Naga Vamsi

Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Gupta has criticized young Tollywood producer Naga Vamsi for his remarks during a recent roundtable discussion involving prominent filmmakers from South Indian and Hindi film industries. Gupta expressed dissatisfaction with Naga Vamsi’s attitude, particularly regarding his interaction with veteran Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor.

Sanjay Gupta alleged that Naga Vamsi’s behavior was disrespectful and questioned if he would behave similarly with senior Tollywood producers like Allu Aravind and Suresh Babu. "Achieving four hits does not make him a king in Bollywood," said Gupta. He emphasized that while success is important, respecting others is equally crucial.

The controversy arose from comments made during a roundtable discussion organized by a prominent website to mark the end of 2024. During the conversation, Naga Vamsi claimed that the Hindi film industry is confined to Mumbai. Boney Kapoor countered this by mentioning Allu Arjun's admiration for Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan. In response, Naga Vamsi pointed out that Allu Arjun is also a fan of both Shah Rukh Khan and Chiranjeevi.

These remarks went viral on social media, prompting criticism from several Bollywood filmmakers. Sanjay Gupta took to social media to voice his discontent, asking who Naga Vamsi was to mock a senior producer like Boney Kapoor. Gupta added that Naga Vamsi’s behavior and remarks were inappropriate and unacceptable.

In solidarity with Gupta’s stance, other Bollywood filmmakers also criticized Naga Vamsi’s comments and supported Gupta’s social media post.
