New Registration Charges for Land in Andhra Pradesh to be Implemented from February 2025

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced significant changes to land registration charges, with new rates set to come into effect from February 1, 2025. The decision was disclosed by Minister for Revenue, Stamps, and Registrations Anagani Satya Prasad, who stated that a detailed review of registration charges had been conducted.

Speaking on the matter, Minister Anagani Satya Prasad revealed that a report on the proposed changes is expected by January 15, 2025, following which the specifics of the revised charges, including areas where rates would increase or decrease, will be finalized. The minister clarified that registration charges would rise only in areas where land values have increased, with a maximum potential hike of up to 20%.

The minister also criticized the previous government for its inadequate decisions regarding registration values, which had resulted in discrepancies where registration charges exceeded actual land values in several areas. To address this, the government plans to reduce registration charges in such locations.
