Allu Arjun’s Pushpa-2 Outshines Baahubali-2 in Domestic Earnings

Pushpa-2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, and directed by Sukumar, continues its phenomenal run at the box office. The film is smashing records, especially in its Hindi version, where it is outperforming expectations and setting new benchmarks. On Sunday, December 22, its 18th day of release, the film grossed an impressive ₹33.25 crore, exceeding predictions.

According to box office tracking platform Shocknilk, the film collected ₹72.3 crore during its third weekend alone, a figure that many films fail to achieve even during their opening weekend. It reported earnings of ₹33.25 crore on Sunday, ₹24.75 crore on Saturday, and ₹14.3 crore on Friday. With these collections, Pushpa-2 has reached a total domestic gross of ₹1,062.9 crore, surpassing the ₹1,040 crore record set by Baahubali-2: The Conclusion in 2017.

Globally, Pushpa-2 has now crossed the ₹1,600 crore mark, cementing its place as the third highest-grossing Indian film of all time. The first position is held by Dangal with over ₹2,000 crore, followed by Baahubali-2, which grossed ₹1,790 crore. Trade analysts predict that with the ongoing holiday season, from Christmas to New Year, the film’s collections are expected to grow further.

The Hindi version of Pushpa-2 has been a particular standout, driving robust revenues in northern states. This unprecedented performance is reportedly impacting the release schedules of new Hindi films, as theater owners are hesitant to replace Pushpa-2 with upcoming titles.
