₹1.15 Crore Controversy: Notices Sent to Ram Gopal Varma
Film director Ram Gopal Varma has received another setback from the Andhra Pradesh government. The Andhra Pradesh FiberNet Corporation has issued notices to Varma, alleging that he unlawfully obtained funds for the movie Vyuham during the YSR Congress Party’s tenure. The notices were issued under the directive of FiberNet’s current chairman, G.V. Reddy. Alongside Varma, notices were also sent to the then FiberNet Managing Director and five other individuals.
The notices state that ₹1.15 crore was paid to Varma for telecasting Vyuham through the FiberNet platform, despite the movie receiving minimal viewership. It was alleged that the payment violated regulations and amounted to an undue benefit. The notices demand repayment of the sum along with interest within 15 days.
Observers are now keen to see how Ram Gopal Varma responds to these allegations and notices.
