Mild Earthquake Strikes Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam District

A mild earthquake was reported in Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam district on Saturday morning, causing significant concern among local residents. The tremors were felt in several areas of Mundlamuru and Talluru mandals, including Shankarapuram, Polavaram, Pasupugallu, Mundlamuru, Vempadu, Marella, and Thoorpu Kambhampadu, according to locals.

Residents reported feeling the ground shake for a few seconds, prompting panic. In Mundlamuru, students from a government school ran outside in fear. Similar scenes unfolded in Talluru, Gangavaram, Ramabhadrapuram, and other nearby villages, where the tremors lasted approximately two seconds. People evacuated homes and government offices, seeking safety outdoors.

This recent incident comes on the heels of an earlier earthquake that caused widespread fear in the Telugu states. A magnitude 5 earthquake, with its epicenter in Medaram, Mulugu district, recently shook areas surrounding the Godavari region, with tremors reported in several districts of Andhra Pradesh as well.

No immediate reports of damage or casualties were available at the time of reporting.
