Vinod Kambli Holds Sachin’s Hand, Refuses to Let Go – Watch the Video!
Vinod Kambli, a name unfamiliar to today’s generation of cricket fans but well-known to the previous era, recently reunited with his childhood friend and cricket legend, Sachin Tendulkar. The two former cricketers met at a special event held at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park to unveil a memorial for their mentor and coach, Ramakant Achrekar. This reunion brought back memories of their glorious cricketing days and their shared journey.
Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli were both students of Achrekar and had achieved significant feats during their school cricket days. The duo gained worldwide recognition after their record-breaking partnership of 664 runs, which still remains a legendary moment in cricket history. While Tendulkar went on to achieve global fame as one of the greatest cricketers, Kambli’s career faded over time.
In a video that recently went viral, Tendulkar can be seen greeting Kambli warmly. However, as Tendulkar started walking back to the stage, Kambli held onto his hand, unwilling to let go. The two stood holding hands for a few moments before Tendulkar was eventually called back to the stage by the host. Another clip showed Kambli embracing Tendulkar affectionately, highlighting their strong bond.
The event was attended by several notable cricket personalities, including Paras Mhambrey, Pravin Amre, Balwinder Singh Sandhu, Sameer Dighe, and Sanjay Bangar. All of them credited Achrekar for shaping their cricketing careers.
Vinod Kambli, who represented India in 17 Test matches and 104 ODIs, retired from international cricket in 2000. Over the years, he has faced numerous personal and financial struggles, a fact he has openly acknowledged. Kambli revealed that he sustains his family with the pension provided by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Recent months have reportedly been even more challenging for him, with a viral video showing him struggling to walk sparking concerns about his health. However, Kambli dismissed these reports, denying any major health issues.
This emotional reunion with Tendulkar brought back memories of their remarkable friendship and journey in cricket, leaving fans nostalgic for the golden days of Indian cricket.
