Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi has strongly condemned the creation and circulation of AI-generated vulgar and morphing videos based on the song ‘Chuttamalla’. Describing such acts as cruel, shameful and completely unacceptable, the actor said the issue is not limited to any one individual or film but is a serious problem that society as a whole must confront.
In a detailed statement shared on social media, Chiranjeevi underlined the far-reaching nature of the threat. “Today it happened to someone else. Tomorrow it could happen to you, to me, or to anyone we know. We cannot remain silent simply because it has not affected us personally. Standing against this misuse is the responsibility of all of us,” he wrote.
He demanded that those who create such content and those who deliberately propagate it be dealt with strictly under the law. Treating the matter lightly or dismissing it as a joke, he cautioned, is inappropriate.
Chiranjeevi announced that he would soon hold discussions with the Telugu Film Chamber, Producers’ Council and other related bodies. He plans to propose the formation of a special committee and support cell that will work in coordination with cyber crime authorities. The proposed body would assist victims, work to remove objectionable content and facilitate legal action against offenders. He called upon film industry associations, artists, technical experts, audiences and fans to join the effort as stakeholders.
The actor also appealed to the central and state governments to take firm and effective measures against the misuse of AI technology. In his post he tagged Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Chiranjeevi urged the public not to watch, download or circulate such videos even with the intention of condemning them. Instead, he advised people to report the content to the concerned platforms and cyber crime authorities. “Protecting human dignity is our collective responsibility. Let us all stand together and raise our voice,” he stated, adding the hashtag #UniteAgainstDigitalAbuse.
