Vishnupriya Appears at Panjagutta Police Station

Television anchor Vishnupriya appeared at the Panjagutta Police Station on Thursday morning, accompanied by her advocate. She arrived around 10 a.m. to participate in an investigation related to a case involving betting app promotions.
The Panjagutta police had previously issued notices to Vishnupriya, requesting her presence for questioning on Tuesday. However, she was unable to attend due to her shooting schedule and instead sent her representative, Shekhar Basha, to the police station on her behalf. Consequently, Vishnupriya attended the inquiry on Thursday morning.
Several individuals in the Telugu states have reportedly died by suicide or fallen into deep financial crises due to their involvement with betting apps. Concerns have been raised over celebrities and social media influencers promoting these apps. IPS officer and Telangana RTC MD, Sajjanar, has been actively voicing opposition to such promotions through social media.
Following Sajjanar’s tweets, police in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have taken action against social media influencers by filing cases against them. Recently, the Telangana police registered cases against 11 influencers, including anchors Vishnupriya and Shyamala, as well as various YouTubers and influencers. Notices have been issued, requesting them to appear for questioning.
