Vallabhaneni Vamsi Remanded Until April 1 by Gannavaram Court

Gannavaram Court has ordered the remand of YSR Congress Party leader and former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi until April 1. Vamsi, who was arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping of Satyavardhan, is currently lodged in Vijayawada district jail. On Tuesday, Gannavaram police arrested him under a PT (Prisoner Transit) warrant and presented him before the court.

The arrest was made in connection with a land registration dispute case registered against him at the Atkuru Police Station under the jurisdiction of Unguturu Mandal. Based on court approval, the police executed the PT warrant and took Vamsi into custody. After reviewing the remand report, the Gannavaram Court ordered his remand until April 1.

During the hearing, Vamsi requested the court to instruct jail authorities to provide him with a mattress and a fiber chair, stating that he was given only an iron cot in jail. However, the Gannavaram Court stated that it could not issue directives on this matter, as the issue was already under review by the Special SC/ST Court. The court further noted that if medical certificates were submitted, it would consider issuing instructions regarding the provision of a fiber chair.

Following the court proceedings, police transferred Vamsi back to Vijayawada district jail.
