Vallabhaneni Vamsi Requests a Cot in Jail, Authorities Deny Request

Vallabhaneni Vamsi, a leader of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), was recently remanded for 14 days by the Vijayawada Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in connection with a case involving alleged kidnapping and threats. Following the court’s order, he was transferred to the district jail in Vijayawada.
Reports indicate that Vamsi has been creating a stir inside the jail. He reportedly insisted that he needed a cot due to back pain and exerted pressure on jail authorities regarding this request. He also cited health issues as a reason for requiring additional accommodations. However, jail doctors, after conducting a medical examination, concluded that a cot was not necessary. The jail authorities assured Vamsi that if he faced any health problems, he would receive medical attention. They also advised him to file a petition in court if he required any special facilities or had any grievances.
Earlier, inside the courtroom, Vamsi expressed strong reactions to the case against him, allegedly cursing those responsible for filing it. He reportedly remarked that those who lodged the case would face consequences. Additionally, during his transfer from Hyderabad to Vijayawada, police sources claim that Vamsi made serious statements, asserting that he knew who was behind the case against him and warning that once his party returned to power, he would take action against them.
