Ambati Rambabu Questions Vallabhaneni Vamsi’s Arrest, Calls It Political Vendetta

Senior YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Ambati Rambabu has expressed shock over the arrest of party leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi, stating that the reasons behind his arrest remain unclear. He acknowledged that Vamsi was named as an accused in a few cases, including the past attack on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) office in Gannavaram. However, he pointed out that Vamsi had already secured anticipatory bail in that case, and therefore, they did not expect his arrest.
Speaking to the media after visiting the Director General of Police (DGP) office to submit a petition regarding the arrest, Ambati Rambabu alleged that no valid reason was provided for Vamsi’s detention. He accused the authorities of orchestrating a politically motivated and unlawful arrest. Rambabu further claimed that false cases were being filed to frame Vamsi and asserted that Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh were acting out of political vendetta because Vamsi had defected from TDP to YSRCP. He emphasized that the case against Vamsi was fabricated and that the truth was evident to everyone.
Rambabu also alleged that Vamsi’s wife faced multiple restrictions when she attempted to meet him. He stated that the YSRCP delegation had sought an appointment with the DGP to submit a petition regarding the arrest, but by the time they reached the office, the DGP had already left. He criticized the authorities for not accepting their petition, questioning the reasoning behind such a refusal.
Further, Rambabu stressed that maintaining law and order was the DGP’s responsibility and questioned whether officials would accept their petition later or if they would have to return at another time.
