Kidnapping Case Filed Against Vallabhaneni Vamsi Under SC/ST and Other Sections

Vijayawada Patamata police have arrested former MLA and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi. He was taken into custody from an apartment in My Home Bhooja, located in Raidurgam, Hyderabad. The police are currently transporting him to Vijayawada.

A case has been registered against Vallabhaneni Vamsi under multiple sections, including kidnapping, assault, and provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The charges also include Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 140(1), 308, 351(3), and Red With 3(5), making a total of seven sections under which the case has been booked.

The incident traces back to a 2019 attack on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) office in Gannavaram, which took place during the YSRCP's tenure in power. Following this attack, Satyavardhan, a computer operator working at the TDP office, lodged a complaint with the police. Recently, Satyavardhan appeared before the special court for SC/ST cases and submitted an affidavit stating that he had no connection with the case.

Two days ago, associates of Vallabhaneni Vamsi reportedly took Satyavardhan to court in a car. After the court proceedings, Satyavardhan met Vamsi and was later sent to Visakhapatnam.

Following this, Satyavardhan's relatives filed a complaint with the police, alleging that he was kidnapped and threatened. Upon investigation, Satyavardhan reportedly informed the police that he was kidnapped and coerced into withdrawing the case. Based on this statement, Patamata police have registered a case against Vallabhaneni Vamsi and his associates.
