Chiranjeevi Praises Vishwak Sen’s Response on Industry Rivalries at "Laila" Function

Hyderabad hosted the pre-release event of the film Laila, starring Vishwak Sen in the lead role, directed by Ram Narayan and produced by Sahu Garapati. The film is set for release on February 14. Megastar Chiranjeevi attended the event as the chief guest and shared his thoughts on the occasion, emphasizing the energy he derives from such gatherings.
Referring to a recent incident, Chiranjeevi praised Vishwak Sen’s response at another event. "The other day, someone asked him, ‘You belong to Balakrishna's camp, so why are you associating with Chiranjeevi now?’ Vishwak Sen gave an excellent reply, saying, ‘My house has a compound, but the film industry does not.’ I appreciate his response. Why shouldn't people have admiration and love for others? Why shouldn't someone have affection for me?" Chiranjeevi remarked.
Drawing a personal parallel, Chiranjeevi shared, "In my own house, my son admires Suriya a lot. Does that mean I shouldn't attend Suriya's events, spend time with him, or have a meal with him? In the past, actors in the film industry maintained strict professional boundaries, but fans mistakenly believed there was real rivalry, leading to conflicts. Back in Nellore, two of my cousins—real brothers—were huge fans of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao and Akkineni Nageswara Rao, respectively. One day, they fought so severely over their favorite stars that they ended up bleeding. I was a child then, but that incident made me realize that while actors maintain friendly ties, it is the fans who get into serious fights. This experience strongly influenced my belief that there should be harmony among actors."
Chiranjeevi also recalled the camaraderie among actors in the past. "In Chennai, there used to be a place called ‘Honey House’ where members of both the Telugu and Tamil industries would gather for parties and celebrations. I share a great friendship with Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, and Balakrishna. Recently, I attended the event celebrating Balakrishna's 50-year journey in cinema. Nagarjuna and I meet frequently."
Addressing the need for inclusivity in the industry, Chiranjeevi emphasized, "We should not label someone as an outsider and question whether we should attend their events. Of course, we should. Vishwak Sen is very much a part of this industry—our industry. Just as our own family of actors stays united, the industry must also remain cohesive. Our image does not diminish because of this. Today, at the Laila event, the moment Pawan Kalyan appeared on the AV, the crowd erupted with excitement. That is something to be proud of. If Pushpa 2 becomes a massive hit, I feel proud. Success in cinema benefits thousands of families, directly and indirectly. That is why everyone should celebrate when a film succeeds."
He further highlighted the interdependence within the industry. "Sometimes films do well, sometimes they don’t. But when a movie succeeds, it generates employment and opportunities for many. Every rupee earned here is reinvested in the industry. Producer Sahu Garapati has already made three films and is using the returns to fund another project. When a producer gives me an advance, that money has likely come from another hero's successful film. That is why the industry thrives on mutual support and collaboration," Chiranjeevi concluded.
