Husband Exposes ₹15 Lakh Railway Job Scam After Divorce

A major recruitment scam in the Indian Railways has come to light after a man exposed irregularities out of anger following his divorce. The incident occurred in Kota, Rajasthan, where Manish Meena revealed that he had paid ₹15 lakh to secure a railway job for his wife. However, after their separation, he reported the matter to authorities, leading to an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
According to reports, eight months ago, Manish Meena approached railway officials, disclosing that his wife had obtained the job through a dummy candidate who took the recruitment exam on her behalf. He alleged that he had mortgaged his farmland to arrange the bribe money, which was handed over to an agent named Rajendra, a railway guard. The agent allegedly facilitated the process by ensuring that a woman named Lakshmi Meena took the exam instead of Manish's wife, Asha Meena. Asha was subsequently appointed as a pointswoman in the West Central Railway (WCR).
Manish, a private railway employee, had married Asha Meena in 2022. Wanting a secure future, he connected with the agent through Asha’s relative. The agent, claiming to have contacts with a senior railway officer in Jabalpur, arranged the fraudulent recruitment in exchange for ₹15 lakh. The authorities later discovered that Lakshmi Meena had taken multiple recruitment exams for different candidates and was already serving as a police constable in Delhi.
After securing the job, tensions arose between Asha and Manish, leading to their separation. Asha reportedly left him because he was unemployed and also accused him of dowry harassment. Enraged, Manish decided to expose the recruitment fraud. His complaint prompted an official investigation, and the CBI registered a case last Friday, launching a probe into the scam.
