Hyderabad CCS Police File Case Against Actor Thottempudi Venu

Hyderabad CCS police have registered a case against prominent actor Thottempudi Venu and four others. Venu represents Progressive Constructions, a company managed by the family of former Member of Parliament Kavuri Sambasiva Rao. The company had previously secured a contract for a hydroelectric project in Uttarakhand through the Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC). This contract was subcontracted to Hyderabad-based Rithwik Projects and Swathi Constructions. However, after Swathi Constructions withdrew midway, Rithwik Projects began the work in 2002.
Subsequently, disputes arose between Progressive Constructions and THDC, leading to a legal battle in the Delhi High Court. Amid this, Venu and the management of Progressive Constructions canceled their agreement with Rithwik Projects. Following this cancellation, Ravi Krishna, the Managing Director of Rithwik Projects, lodged a complaint with the police, alleging that Progressive Constructions had violated their contract.
Based on the directions of the Nampally Second Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, the police have now registered a case against Venu, along with Progressive Constructions executives Bhaskar Rao, Hemalatha, Srivani, and Managing Director Paturi Praveen.
Thottempudi Venu made his debut in Telugu cinema with the film Swayamvaram and later starred in hits like Kalyana Ramudu and Pellam Oorelithe. After a period away from films, Venu recently made his return with the movie Ramarao On Duty.
