Telugu Cricketer Trisha Shines as India Wins ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup

The Indian women’s team has emerged victorious in the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup, delivering a dominant performance in the final held today in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. India defeated South Africa by nine wickets, successfully chasing the 83-run target in just 11.2 overs while losing only one wicket.
Telugu cricketer Gongadi Trisha played a stellar all-round role in the match. She took three wickets with the ball and then opened the batting, scoring an unbeaten 44 runs off 33 balls, including eight fours.
India’s chase began with opener G. Kamalini departing for just eight runs. However, Trisha, alongside one-down batter Sanika Chalke, steered the innings forward. Chalke contributed 26 runs off 22 balls, hitting four fours, and sealed the victory with a winning boundary. Among South African bowlers, captain Kayla Reyneke claimed the only wicket.
This marks India’s second consecutive ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup title. The tournament has been held twice so far, with India winning both editions. In 2023, India clinched the title by defeating England in the final. Now, with another commanding performance, they have successfully defended their crown.
