Raghu Rama Krishna Raju Custodial Torture Case: SC Grants Relief to Dr. Prabhavati

The Supreme Court has granted relief to Dr. Prabhavati in the custodial torture case involving Andhra Pradesh Deputy Speaker Raghu Rama Krishna Raju. It is known that the Andhra Pradesh High Court had earlier rejected her anticipatory bail plea. Following this, she challenged the High Court's decision in the Supreme Court.

A bench comprising Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta heard Prabhavati’s petition. The Supreme Court stayed the High Court's order but directed her to cooperate with the investigation. Additionally, it instructed the Andhra Pradesh CID to file a counter within two weeks. The next hearing has been scheduled for four weeks later.
