Even for a Blockbuster Sequel, Prabhas' Dates Are Hard to Get!

Pan-India star Prabhas is currently one of the busiest actors in Indian cinema. Following the massive success of Kalki 2898 AD, he is actively working on two films—Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, and Fauji, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. After completing these projects, he is set to begin shooting Spirit with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
Meanwhile, director Nag Ashwin is planning a sequel to Kalki 2898 AD. During the shooting of the first part, he had already filmed certain sequences for the sequel. However, a significant portion of the sequel is yet to be completed, and Nag Ashwin is currently waiting for Prabhas' availability to begin the remaining shoot.
Initially, the makers had planned to start filming Kalki 2 in June 2025 and release it in 2026. However, due to Prabhas' packed schedule with three ongoing projects, the timeline has reportedly been adjusted. The new plan is to release the sequel either by the end of 2026 or in 2027.
The fact that even a blockbuster sequel like Kalki 2 is struggling to get Prabhas' dates highlights just how strong his lineup of films is at the moment.
