Vijayashanti Urges BJP to Consider Revanth Reddy’s Views on Padma Awards

The central government announced the Padma Awards on the occasion of Republic Day. However, Congress leader and actress Vijayashanti expressed disappointment, stating that Telangana should have been awarded at least four Padma Awards. In her tweet, she emphasized that the BJP-led central government should consider Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s perspective on this matter.

"Telangana deserved at least four Padma Awards as part of the central government’s announcement. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s opinion on this issue is worth serious consideration. With two Union Ministers and eight MPs from Telangana representing the BJP, the party should reflect on this. I urge the BJP to review the CM’s perspective," Vijayashanti tweeted.

This year, seven Telugu recipients were honored with Padma Awards, with only two from Telangana. Dr. Duvvuru Nageshwar Reddy received the Padma Vibhushan for his contributions to medicine, and Manda Krishna Madiga was awarded the Padma Shri for his work in public affairs. In Andhra Pradesh, actor Nandamuri Balakrishna received the Padma Bhushan, while four others were awarded the Padma Shri.
