Saif Ali Khan Case: Driver Claims His Life Was Ruined

In a case involving Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, Mumbai Police initially arrested a suspect in Chhattisgarh, identified as Akash Kanojia, a driver. The arrest was made after authorities noted similarities between Kanojia and an individual seen in CCTV footage from Saif Ali Khan’s residence. However, after confirming that Kanojia had no connection to the case, police released him.

While this may have brought closure for the authorities, Kanojia expressed deep anguish, claiming that the ordeal devastated his life. "In the Saif Ali Khan case, I was treated as the prime suspect. My photos were splashed across the media, and my family faced immense humiliation. My marriage was called off. I was on my way to meet my fiancée when I was arrested in Durg by the police... they even beat me," Kanojia alleged.

Although he was eventually released, the damage to his life was irreversible, he stated. "I lost my job, and my fiancée’s family refused to let the marriage proceed. I’m paying the price for a mistake made by the police. The person in the CCTV footage had no mustache, but I do. The police failed to notice this difference. Had they not found the real culprit, I would have been wrongfully implicated in this case," he lamented.

Kanojia further revealed that he now plans to stand outside Saif Ali Khan’s house to plead for help and request employment.
