Dr. Nageshwar Reddy from Telangana Among Seven Awarded Padma Vibhushan

On the occasion of Republic Day, the Government of India announced the Padma Awards, honoring individuals for their exceptional contributions to various fields. Seven distinguished personalities were conferred with the Padma Vibhushan this year, including Dr. Duvvuru Nageshwar Reddy from Telangana in the field of medicine.

Dr. Nageshwar Reddy expressed his happiness over receiving the Padma Vibhushan, stating that the award increased his sense of responsibility. He pledged to continue his efforts to serve society and the nation.

The other recipients of the Padma Vibhushan include Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar (Retired) for public affairs (Chandigarh), Kumudini Lakhia for arts (Gujarat), L. Subramaniam for arts (Karnataka), M.T. Vasudevan Nair posthumously for literature and education (Kerala), Osamu Suzuki posthumously for trade and industry (Japan), and Sharda Sinha for arts (Bihar).

Dr. Nageshwar Reddy received accolades from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who praised his significant contributions to the medical field. “This award is a testament to his exceptional work in healthcare and is a matter of immense pride for the country, especially for the Telugu community,” Chandrababu Naidu stated.

Additionally, Chandrababu Naidu expressed his joy over the selection of Manda Krishna Madiga for the Padma Shri award. “I congratulate Manda Krishna Madiga, the founder of the MRPS, who has tirelessly worked for the upliftment of Dalits, on being chosen for the Padma Shri,” Chandrababu Naidu said in a tweet.
