IT Raids Are Common During Business Operations: Dil Raju

Renowned Tollywood producer Dil Raju addressed the media on Saturday regarding the recent Income Tax (IT) raids conducted at his residence and offices over the past four days. Speaking about the situation, Dil Raju clarified that such IT raids are a normal occurrence when running large-scale businesses. He also reminded the media that similar raids have been carried out on other prominent individuals in the film and business industries.
Dil Raju revealed that these were the first raids on his companies in 18 years, emphasizing that the Income Tax Department routinely conducts such operations. He added, “The IT officials thoroughly examined our account books and were surprised to find that all records were clear. There was nothing unusual in the accounts.” He stated that at the time of the raid, only ₹20 lakhs in cash was present across his home and office.
Highlighting the process of the raid, Dil Raju mentioned that the IT officials restricted movement during the operation and did not allow anyone to leave the premises. He requested the media to refrain from spreading rumors about the raids, urging for responsible reporting.
Dil Raju also criticized certain rumors that had surfaced during the raids, including one about his mother suffering a heart attack due to the incident. He clarified that his mother, who is 81 years old, was unwell due to a lung infection on January 19, the day of the raids. He explained that she received medical treatment at a hospital and is now recovering at home.
The producer concluded by reiterating that businesses are often subjected to such checks, and the IT Department was simply performing its duty.
