Kangana Ranaut's 'Emergency' Faces Hurdles in Britain, India Responds

Kangana Ranaut's directorial venture Emergency, based on the Emergency period during Indira Gandhi's regime, has encountered obstacles in Britain. The film, which had faced multiple delays, was released on January 17. However, issues have emerged with its screening in several theaters across the UK.

India's Consul General in New York, Randhir Jaiswal, addressed the matter, stating that their attention was drawn to efforts aimed at obstructing the screening of Emergency in certain theaters. He mentioned concerns such as threats from anti-India groups and violent protests being raised with the UK government consistently.

Jaiswal urged the UK authorities to take action against those attempting to hinder the film's release. Expressing optimism, he said he hoped the British government would act in this regard. He further noted that the Indian diplomatic mission is closely monitoring the situation and engaging with relevant authorities to ensure the smooth screening of the film.
