Court Orders Three-Day Custody for Accused in Raghurama Torture Case

In the case involving alleged custodial torture of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Raghurama Krishnam Raju during the tenure of the previous government, the court has granted police custody of the accused, Tulasibabu. The Guntur court issued orders allowing Tulasibabu to be placed in police custody for three days, from January 27 to 29, for further questioning.

Tulasibabu has been identified as Accused Number 6 (A6) in the custodial torture case. At the time of the incident, Raghurama Krishnam Raju had been taken into custody by CID officials and transported to their office. Raju later alleged that Tulasibabu inflicted severe torture on him by sitting on his chest. Following these allegations, the police arrested Tulasibabu, who is currently being held as a remand prisoner at Guntur District Jail.
