Director Anil Ravipudi Responds to IT Raids in the Film Industry

Renowned Telugu director Anil Ravipudi recently addressed the ongoing Income Tax (IT) raids on prominent figures in the film industry. Speaking during the success meet of his latest film, Sankranthiki Vastunnam, Ravipudi shared his views on the situation and how it has impacted industry insiders.
When asked a lighthearted question about hosting a success meet while his producer Dil Raju faced IT raids, Ravipudi humorously responded, “Since we titled the film Sankranthiki Vastunnam (We’re Coming for Sankranti), perhaps the IT department also decided to come for Sankranti.” He clarified that Dil Raju was not in distress, as the raids were not limited to him but extended to several individuals in the industry.
“Dil Raju told us not to halt the promotions, irrespective of his presence. He wanted us to share this film’s success with the audience. IT raids are a part of a process and occur once every two to three years. It’s a routine aspect for individuals in the industry and business sectors,” Ravipudi explained.
When asked if there was a chance for IT raids at his own residence, Ravipudi humorously remarked, “I’m not currently living next to Sukumar's house. I’ll be moving there in February, so maybe the IT officials might visit me then!”
It is worth noting that Sankranthiki Vastunnam has emerged as a massive success, receiving positive word-of-mouth and earning impressive box office collections. The film has reportedly broken several non-pan-India records, and its family-oriented entertainment has resonated with audiences during the festive season.
