Singer Mika Singh Announces ₹1 Lakh Reward for Auto Driver Who Saved Saif Ali Khan’s Life

Punjabi singer Mika Singh has announced a ₹1 lakh reward for Bhajan Singh Rana, the auto-rickshaw driver who saved Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan’s life after he was severely injured in an attack. On January 16, Saif was assaulted at his Bandra residence, leaving him with multiple stab wounds. Bleeding heavily, Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital by Rana in his auto-rickshaw.
Mika Singh praised Rana's heroic act through an Instagram post, where he wrote, "I firmly believe that someone who saved India’s beloved superstar deserves at least ₹11 lakh as a reward. His bravery is truly commendable. If possible, please share his contact details with me. On my behalf, I would like to give him ₹1 lakh as a token of appreciation."
Before being discharged, Saif Ali Khan personally met the auto driver at the hospital, embraced him, and expressed his gratitude. Saif’s mother, veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, also blessed Rana for his selfless act. Reports state that Saif handed over ₹50,000 to the auto driver as well.
The incident occurred on January 16 when an intruder attempted a burglary at Saif’s Bandra home, Sadguru Sharan. During the altercation, the assailant stabbed Saif six times. Following the attack, Saif reached Lilavati Hospital around 2:30 a.m., where doctors performed surgery. After five days of treatment, he was discharged.
Mumbai Police arrested the suspect, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi national, on January 19 from Thane. The accused was presented before the Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court on Sunday afternoon, which remanded him to five days of police custody.
