Saif Ali Khan Attacked by Bangladeshi Man, Mumbai Police Reveal Details

Mumbai Police have identified the man who trespassed into Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan’s house as a Bangladeshi national. According to Mumbai Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit, the suspect was arrested three days ago in connection with a burglary attempt at the actor’s residence.
The suspect, identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, had allegedly been living in Mumbai for the past several months. Based on preliminary investigations, police suspect that he is from Bangladesh as he lacked any documents to establish Indian citizenship. The police have filed charges under the Passport Act and other relevant sections.
Details of the Incident
The man reportedly entered Saif Ali Khan’s house through the fire exit. A housekeeper noticed him and raised an alarm. When Saif Ali Khan tried to intervene, the suspect allegedly stabbed the actor six times before fleeing. Saif was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he is recovering steadily.
Further investigations revealed that the suspect, who was initially going by the name Bijoy Das, had been working for a housekeeping agency in Mumbai for the past four months. He is believed to have entered India illegally and assumed a new identity. Items recovered from the suspect also suggest his Bangladeshi origins.
Motive and Arrest
Police stated that Mohammad Shariful Islam had demanded money during the break-in. When the family refused and resisted, he resorted to violence. Using technical evidence, authorities tracked and arrested him in Thane. The police are continuing to interrogate him regarding his activities and possible connections.
The Mumbai Police emphasized that multiple charges, including those related to illegal entry into India, have been filed against the suspect.
