AP Government Orders Probe Against Sunil Kumar; RSP Praveen Kumar Responds Strongly

The Andhra Pradesh government has issued orders authorizing a probe against former CID chief and senior IPS officer PV Sunil Kumar. This decision has drawn a sharp response from Telangana-based BRS leader RS Praveen Kumar, who voiced his concerns on social media platform X. In his post, Praveen Kumar questioned, “When will these harassments end?”

RS Praveen Kumar expressed outrage at what he perceived as systemic discrimination against PV Sunil Kumar, an officer belonging to the SC Mala community. He alleged that the officer’s caste and the absence of surnames like Raju, Naidu, Chowdary, Reddy, Varma, or Sharma in his name have led to this persecution. Praveen Kumar called this treatment a stark reality and lamented the lack of fairness in governance. While emphasizing that he personally had close bonds with individuals from all castes mentioned, he accused the system of bias against marginalized groups.

The BRS leader also questioned why individuals like Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, who he alleged has defrauded banks of hundreds of crores, can roam free as an MLA, while a distinguished officer like PV Sunil Kumar, who has served the nation for over three decades, is left without a posting and subjected to legal harassment.

Recalling his association with Sunil Kumar since 1998 in Bellampalli (Adilabad district), Praveen Kumar alleged that successive governments have repeatedly wronged the officer. He criticized the leadership for failing to recognize Sunil Kumar’s service and for denying him postings of significance. According to Praveen Kumar, the systemic discrimination faced by Sunil Kumar has been ignored by the media, which, he alleged, prioritizes the narratives of dominant groups.

He further claimed that a judiciary dominated by 79% of privileged groups offers little hope for redress to officers like Sunil Kumar. Drawing a parallel to past remarks by political leaders like Chandrababu Naidu and Roja, Praveen Kumar commented on how the very idea of being born into an SC community has been stigmatized.
RSP’s Advice to Sunil Kumar

Offering his advice, RS Praveen Kumar urged PV Sunil Kumar to abandon silence and step into the public arena. “Brother PV Sunil, enough of these silent tears. Roar like PV Pulikumar! Ignore the memos and inquiries, and fight for justice,” he wrote. He encouraged Sunil Kumar to look forward, continue his struggle, and eradicate all forms of injustice.
