AP Cabinet Reviews Mega Investment Plans

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, approved several key decisions on Thursday. The meeting, held at the Secretariat in Velagapudi, began at 11:00 AM and was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, other ministers, Chief Secretary Vijay Anand, and government advisors.

Notable decisions include the construction of two engineering colleges in Amaravati and approval for projects worth ₹2,733 crores. The cabinet also sanctioned two works recommended during the 44th CRDA meeting. Additionally, an ordinance to amend municipal laws was approved, transferring the responsibility of issuing building and layout permissions to municipalities.

The cabinet gave its nod for the creation of 19 new posts in the Pithapuram Area Development Authority. It also approved a proposal to increase the number of beds at the Tirupati ESI Hospital to 100.

Discussions included plans for a BPCL refinery in Ramayapatnam and a green ammonia plant in Kakinada. Further, the cabinet reviewed investments worth ₹1,82,162 crores approved by SIPB. There were deliberations on allocating land in Chittoor district for establishing an IR Battalion under the Home Department.
