Dil Raju Defends Film Industry Amid Political Allegations by KTR
The recent remarks by BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) regarding cinema personalities and their interactions with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy have sparked a response from prominent producer and Telangana Film Development Corporation Chairman, Dil Raju.
KTR had earlier alleged that Revanth Reddy, the Chief Minister, raised issues involving cinema personalities merely to distract from public problems and gain media attention. He further claimed that, after resolving matters with the film industry representatives, the Chief Minister has since refrained from speaking on the subject.
Responding to these remarks, Dil Raju expressed disappointment and stated, “It is regrettable that KTR’s comments on the Chief Minister’s meeting with film industry representatives have stirred unnecessary controversy.” He urged political leaders not to drag the Telugu film industry into baseless political disputes. Dil Raju emphasized that associating the film industry with unwarranted political criticism is inappropriate and harmful.
Dil Raju clarified that the meeting with the Chief Minister was conducted in a transparent and amicable manner, focusing solely on addressing the issues and welfare of the film industry. “There was no hidden agenda in our discussions,” he asserted, adding that the film industry is satisfied with the outcome of the meeting.
He highlighted the state government’s acknowledgment of the film industry's contribution to Telangana’s development and revealed that the Chief Minister sought collaboration from the industry to further social welfare initiatives.
Dil Raju reiterated his plea for political leaders to refrain from using the film industry as a tool for political attacks or counterattacks. “Let the industry focus on its creative endeavors and not be burdened by unnecessary controversies,” he urged.
