Missing Rice Case: Pawan Kalyan Refutes Allegations of Targeting Perni Jayasudha
Former Minister and YSR Congress Party leader Perni Nani recently alleged that the targeting of his family members, including his wife Perni Jayasudha, was an act of political revenge. This follows a government raid on a warehouse registered under Jayasudha's name, during which authorities discovered discrepancies involving 378 metric tons of rice and imposed significant penalties.
Responding to these allegations, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan addressed the media today at his camp office in Mangalagiri. During his interaction, Pawan Kalyan dismissed the claims of vendetta, stating that there was no need to target Perni Jayasudha for political purposes.
“We do not engage in targeting women in families, as the YSR Congress Party leaders did during the previous administration. They openly insulted even the spouse of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Here, the issue concerns a significant quantity of rice that went missing under the purview of the Civil Supplies Department, and the warehouse in question is registered under Perni Jayasudha’s name,” said Pawan Kalyan.
He further elaborated that the legal process necessitates naming the warehouse owner in the case. “Since irregularities occurred, and the owners of the warehouse admitted to the wrongdoing by promptly paying a fine of ₹1.7 crore, their names had to be included in the legal proceedings. Where is the question of political revenge in this?” he asked.
Pawan Kalyan emphasized that the issue was being handled lawfully and that it had no personal or political motives.
