Pawan Kalyan Clarifies Nagababu’s Path to Ministerial Role

Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan has clarified his stance regarding his brother, Konidela Nagababu, joining the Andhra Pradesh state cabinet. Responding to reports that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has decided to induct Nagababu into the cabinet, Pawan Kalyan emphasized that Nagababu must first be appointed as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) before contemplating a ministerial position.

“There are exceptional circumstances under which a person can be given a ministerial role before becoming an MLC, but such special circumstances do not exist currently,” Pawan Kalyan stated. He further explained that the party's priority is to focus on getting Nagababu appointed as an MLC.

Addressing concerns about nepotism, Pawan Kalyan asserted that caste or familial connections are not the criteria for selecting leaders. “What matters is whether someone is capable and hardworking,” he remarked. He also pointed out that he does not know the caste of Kandula Durgesh, a current minister in their cabinet.

Describing Nagababu as a self-made and hardworking individual, Pawan Kalyan defended his brother’s potential role in the government. These comments were made during an informal interaction with the media.
