MP Chamala Criticizes Allu Arjun Over Sandhya Theatre Stampede Case

MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy has alleged that the police have explained in detail, with supporting visuals, why a case was filed against actor Allu Arjun regarding the stampede incident at Sandhya Theatre. He stated that the police highlighted the incident as a result of irresponsibility. Speaking to the media today, Chamala claimed that the film industry flourished under Congress leadership.

Chamala noted that when Allu Arjun was released from jail, he declared that he would abide by the law as a responsible citizen. He further added that no specific individuals were held accountable for the incident. In response to questions raised by members of the Majlis party, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy provided clarifications in the assembly. Chamala remarked that the Chief Minister attempted to present the facts to the public.

Chamala claimed that the theatre management had indeed submitted an application for permission regarding Allu Arjun’s visit, but it was incorrect to state that the police had granted approval. He reminded the media that Allu Arjun addressed the public on the same day CM Revanth Reddy spoke in the assembly. Expressing sorrow, the actor acknowledged the death of Revathi and noted that her son was undergoing treatment in a hospital.

The Chief Minister emphasized that if such incidents recur, there will be no permissions or other concessions for benefit shows in the future. He stated that strict measures would be unavoidable if the public faced difficulties.

Chamala criticized Allu Arjun’s remarks on that day, alleging that the actor was merely reading from a script written by someone else. He remarked that if Allu Arjun had promised to prevent such incidents in the future, he would have transitioned from being a “reel star” to a “real star.”

The MP affirmed that Congress desires the welfare of everyone. He commended Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for trying to explain to the public what transpired at Sandhya Theatre. Chamala suggested that assigning the Telangana Film Development Corporation (TFDC) Chairman post to someone outside the film industry would not resolve issues. Hence, it was given to an individual with industry knowledge. He specifically mentioned Dil Raju as a significant brand in the industry today.

Chamala also recalled that during the Anjaih government, land was allocated in Film Nagar to bring the film industry to Hyderabad. He mentioned that studios like Padmalaya and Ramanaidu Studios were also granted land by the government at that time. Congress, he said, has always sought the welfare of everyone from producers and actors to the lowest-level workers in the industry.
