YSRCP Leader Chevireddy Faces Setback in POCSO Case in High Court

Former Chandragiri MLA and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy encountered a legal setback in the Andhra Pradesh High Court. A POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) case was registered against him following allegations of spreading news on social media related to the rape of a 14-year-old girl from Erravaripalem Mandal in Tirupati district.

During the hearing on Chevireddy’s petition seeking dismissal of the case today, the court instructed the police to file a counter-affidavit. The next hearing has been scheduled for December 24.

The court also made it clear that no interim relief would be granted protecting Chevireddy from arrest at this stage.
