Pakistan Beats India in U-19 Asia Cup Opener: IPL Star Vaibhav Scores Just 1 Run

Team India’s Under-19 journey in the Asia Cup began with a loss. In today’s league match held in Dubai, the Indian Under-19 team was defeated by Pakistan by 43 runs.

The Pakistan Under-19 team won the toss and chose to bat first, scoring 281 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. In response, the Indian team was bowled out for 238 runs in 47.1 overs while chasing a target of 282 runs. Nikhil Kumar emerged as the top scorer for India with 67 runs.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 13-year-old sensation from Bihar, who recently made headlines at the IPL auction, had a disappointing outing today. The teenager, bought for ₹1.10 crore by Rajasthan Royals in the IPL auction, managed just 1 run from 9 balls as an opener in this match. Vaibhav, with a base price of ₹30 lakhs, became the youngest cricketer in IPL history to fetch over ₹1 crore.

Ahead of today’s Asia Cup Under-19 match against Pakistan, there was immense hype surrounding Vaibhav's performance. Fans were eager to see how the young cricketer would perform, but he failed to stay at the crease for long.

Among other Indian players, opener Ayush Mathre scored 20 runs, Andre Siddharth 15, captain Mohammad Aman 16, Kiran Karmole 20, Har Vamsh Pangalia 26, and Mohammad Inan 30 runs. On the bowling side, Pakistan’s Ali Reza took 3 wickets, Abdul Subhan and Faham-ul-Haq picked up 2 each, while Naveed Ahmed Khan and Usman Khan took 1 wicket each.
