Former Deputy CM Dharmana Krishna Das' Ex-PA Murali Arrested

Gondu Murali, a former personal assistant (PA) to ex-Deputy Chief Minister Dharmana Krishna Das, has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on charges of amassing disproportionate assets. Murali, who served as Krishna Das' PA from 2019 to 2022, allegedly acquired significant illegal wealth during his tenure.

Acting on orders from the ACB Director General, officials conducted extensive searches at Murali’s residence on Thursday from morning till late night. Simultaneous raids were carried out at six locations in Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam districts.

The raids uncovered over 20 acres of land, property documents for multiple plots and flats in Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam, a kilogram of gold ornaments, 11.36 kilograms of silver items, and other valuables. The estimated market value of the seized assets is over ₹70 crores.

Following the searches, ACB officials arrested Murali late Thursday night and presented him before the ACB court in Visakhapatnam. Key officials involved in the operation included ACB Srikakulam DSP Ramanamurthy, SI Bhaskar Rao, and officers from Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts.
