Pawan Kalyan Spoke Out, We Didn’t. That’s the Only Difference: AP Home Minister Anitha
Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Anitha expressed concern over the rising crime rate in the state, emphasizing that everyone is troubled by the situation. Referring to Jana Sena Party leader Pawan Kalyan’s recent comments, she said, “Pawan Kalyan spoke out, we didn’t. That’s the only difference.” Minister Anitha noted that she had spoken with him directly and clearly, adding that she would interpret his statements on Monday in a positive light.
The minister affirmed that the government is making every effort to enforce strict law and order across the state. During a review meeting with senior police officials from Anantapur and Sri Sathya Sai districts, discussions centered on issues like crimes against women and marijuana trafficking. She reported that the meeting focused on measures to curb these criminal activities.
Addressing the recent gang rape incident in Sri Sathya Sai district, Home Minister Anitha described it as deeply distressing. She attributed the current law and order challenges to the previous political encouragement of criminal activities, voicing regret over its impact on the current situation. The minister called for the establishment of special courts to ensure swift punishment for offenders, adding that she would discuss these matters with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Additionally, she warned that strict actions would be taken against individuals posting misleading information on social media. Criticizing opposition leader Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, she remarked that he seems to have recently remembered the importance of freedom of expression, while appearing to overlook the challenges the police faced during the prior government’s tenure.
