Hyderabad: In Delhi, the Chief Secretary (CS) and Director-General of Police (DGP) from Andhra Pradesh appeared before the Election Commission due to ongoing violence during and after the polling day in the state. The Election Commission summoned CS Jawahar Reddy and DGP Harish Kumar Gupta to Delhi following its directives.

The CS and DGP traveled to Delhi today and personally appeared before the Election Commission, where they provided explanations about the circumstances in the state. There have been severe criticisms regarding the police's failure to control violence during and after the polling in Andhra Pradesh. Accusations against the operational practices of CS Jawahar Reddy have been ongoing by opposition parties. In this context, the summoning of the CS and DGP by the Election Commission reflects the seriousness of the situation in Andhra Pradesh.
