Education and intelligence not enough: Sunitha's plea for justice in father's murder

amaravati: Dr. Sunitha, the daughter of the late YS Vivekananda Reddy who was brutally murdered during the last election period, spoke to the media today. She revealed that she has been fighting for justice in her father's murder case for the past five years. Despite being educated, intelligent, and capable, she expressed her frustration at feeling utterly helpless.

Sunitha clarified that her fight is not just for herself but also for the common people. She reiterated her aim to prevent Avinash Reddy from gaining power, emphasizing her responsibility to tell the truth, after which the public will make their decision.

"Before 2009, YS Rajasekhar Reddy, including Viveka, contested for the Kadapa MP seat. After YSR's death, discussions arose about the candidacy in Pulivendula. Bhaskar Reddy's name was considered for Pulivendula, but Viveka opposed it. The subsequent events led to Viveka leaving the Congress party to support Jagan, who was in jail at the time. Despite Sharmila's efforts to lead the party and win the by-elections, Jagan sidelined her due to her increasing popularity.

Everyone expected Sharmila to contest from Kadapa in 2014, but the ticket was given to Avinash Reddy, a decision Viveka was strongly against. Viveka's loss in the MLC elections was attributed to Avinash Reddy's betrayal.

The discussion to give Sharmila the Kadapa ticket resurfaced in 2019. Viveka pressured her to contest, but the subsequent events are well known to everyone. Viveka expressed no surprise at the possibility of being murdered. She believes the CBI is making progress in the investigation and noted that she has no political parties backing her, although some YSRCP members support her.

Initially, she refused to believe that someone from her own family was involved in the murder, admitting her complete trust in her family members was her mistake. The CBI has named Avinash Reddy as a suspect, but Jagan gave him a clean chit in the assembly and obstructed his arrest for two days. Recently, there was an attempt to bribe Dastagiri in Kadapa jail," Sunitha detailed.

She also mentioned the delay in the CBI and ED cases against Jagan, expressing surprise that the trial hasn't started even after ten years.
