Report of US-based Eclipse Forensics on MP Gorantla’s nude video fake: AP CID chief

Amaravati, August 18: Andhra Pradesh CID chief Sunil Kumar on Thursday said that Jim Stauffer, a forensic examiner at Eclipse Forensics, USA, confirmed through email that a report in circulation on YSRCP MP Gorantla Madhav’s nude video was fake.
 
Speaking to the media here, the top cop made it clear that forensic reports from private labs are not admissible in the court of law. “Eclipse Forensics stated that video in circulation is original,” he mentioned and added that no one can confirm video clip recorded using another video as original or fake.
 
Sunil said that Jim Stauffer told him that a video can be authenticated based on original footage. “Jim Stauffer personally told me that Pothini Prasad had asked him to make changes in original report,” he revealed. 
 
The ADG said that the CID will take action against Prasad and others for circulating fake forensic report on social media under Section 67 of the IT Act.
