Tweet on Draupadi Murmu: BJP complaints against RGV at Abids police station
Hyderabad, June 23: Telangana BJP leaders Gudur Narayana Reddy and T. Nandeshwar Goud lodged a complaint against controversial Tollywood director Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) at Abids police station on Friday over a tweet on NDA presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu.
Talking to a reporter, Narayana Reddy said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave an opportunity to a woman belonging to the Schedule Tribe (ST) to make her Indian president. “She is set to become the first ST president of independent India,” he said and sought stringent punishment to RGV for making mockery of Draupadi with his tweet.
The BJP leaders submitted the tweet as evidence to police along with the complaint. They demanded that the police should register a case under SC/ST Atrocities Act. It is not first time that RGV landed in trouble. In the past, he faced criticism for making adverse remarks. He tries for media attention by creating controversy with his comments.
