BCCI 2024–25 Contracts: Kohli, Rohit, Bumrah, Jadeja in A+ Category

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially released the list of central contracts for the 2024–25 season. Among the notable developments, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer, who were excluded from the 2023–24 contract list, have regained their places. Several young players, including Telugu cricketer Nithish Kumar Reddy, Rajat Patidar, and Harshit Rana, have received central contracts for the first time. In total, 34 players have been awarded contracts across four categories: A , A, B, and C.
In the A category, four players—Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja—have been included. These players are entitled to an annual salary of ₹7 crore. Despite earlier reports suggesting that the three senior players, excluding Bumrah, might not be retained in this elite category due to their absence from T20 Internationals, their inclusion has drawn attention.
The A category features six players: Mohammed Siraj, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Shami, and Rishabh Pant. Each of them will receive an annual remuneration of ₹5 crore.
In the B category, Team India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav is joined by Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shreyas Iyer. Each player in this group will receive ₹3 crore per annum.
The C category consists predominantly of emerging talents. Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, Ravi Bishnoi, Washington Sundar, Mukesh Kumar, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Rajat Patidar, Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan, Nithish Kumar Reddy, Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma, Akash Deep, Varun Chakravarthy, and Harshit Rana have been included. Each player in this category will earn ₹1 crore annually. This is the first time that Harshit Rana, Abhishek Sharma, Rajat Patidar, Nithish Kumar Reddy, and Varun Chakravarthy have been granted BCCI central contracts.
